Despite my efforts to progress to digital photography I have failed! I started black and white photography at university taking pictures for the student newspaper and haven't stopped. I use 35mm, medium format and large format to record landscapes and daily life. Although I have done darkroom printmaking I am currently processing my own negatives before scanning. I used to try hard to make a perfect picture now I just use my instincts. If I go out without my camera I regret it.

My interest in photography was started when I was given a second hand slr by my father. I learned to develop and print photos at college, and used film for many years, but now enjoy the immediacy of digital photography. I especially enjoy the challenge of taking creditable images with a smartphone.

My interest in photography began by watching Dad in the dark room/airing cupboard. I thought it was magical and have been excitedly following in his footsteps ever since. I have a passion for nature, cyanotype photography and also for the moonlit landscape. Monochrome is a challenge, but that's what makes it particularly interesting and fun to me.

I've been taking photography seriously since August 2022 when I bought my first Mirrorless camera. So I'm a newbie really!
I currently shoot with Nikon Z cameras and enjoy all kinds of photography, but spend most my time on wildlife.
I recently joined the Border Monochrome Club to learn from others and to challenge myself by taking part in the monthly competitions.
Most of my photographs are intended for Social Media (you can find me on Instagram ), but I have recently started printing some of my photographs too.
