When was the Club Founded?
The Border Monochrome Camera Club was formed in 1976 making it the oldest club in the UK for black and white photography enthusiasts.
The small but enthusiastic group of amateur photographers seek to create the highest quality images using either traditional film cameras or digital methods, from high end Digital cameras to the humble mobile phone. Members live in the beautiful countryside of the Welsh Borders, in and around the small town of Kington in Herefordshire.
The club has witnessed steady transition from traditional photographic processes to modern digital imaging. Its members continue to represent both approaches but share a common interest in valuing the appeal of a well-produced photographic print as well as a breath taking computer image. A number of the club's past members have moved onto to become professional photographers.
